Can you figure out what’s going on in this picture? I’ll give you a hint if you’re confused at all. Just turn your screen upside down an it’ll all make sense. I guess this gets tricky if your screen is bigger than a phone or tablet, in which you might be best to get into some advanced yoga maneuvers so that you can stand on your head and look at this picture upside down. Either way, I’ll leave the details up to you.

This bridge is in the city of Hanoi, Vietnam, where we were watching the sun set one evening at a small lake in the middle of the city. We were waiting to go to a water puppet show at a theatre just across the street from the lake.

While we were sitting there waiting, a few policeman walked by in front of us and we noticed all of the hawkers along the lake front suddenly grabbed all of their things and scattered in all different directions. One lady was even in the middle of selling something to a tourist when she started running away suddenly. I think it had something to do with recent changes in the local laws about selling goods on the street, but either way it made for a short burst of some high speed action with people suddenly running in all different directions, others making a stealthy back door getaway, and the police trying to show some authority.

I guess it goes to show that you don’t even need to go to a water puppet theatre to get a show and entertainment when you’re in Hanoi.
