Learn how I edit all of my photos with the new video series: The FIX!

Check out the first episodes of the FIX!

Ever since I got into photography a few years ago, I’ve found the editing and post-processing of images to be the most fun, and also the most challenging part of photography. There are so many different programs and so many different styles and techniques that it’s hard to know what to do. While there is no right way to edit photos, over time I’ve learned a few things that have helped me out and have allowed me to get photos to look how I want them to look.

In my journey to try to learn how to edit photos, I’ve always found that the most helpful tutorials are the ones where someone walks through how they edit one of their own photos from start to finish. To me, these examples are far more interesting and engaging than basic instructional videos. Because of this, I decided that I would make a video series where I show you how I edit photos using examples of my own. This video series is now live and is called The FIX.

Every week here on Find Away Photography, I post a new photo (cleverly called the Photo of the Week) and I tell the story behind the shot. The FIX will be digging deeper into some of these Photos of the Week and showing you what I did to edit these photos to make them look the way that they do. You’ll see the photo as it came directly out of the camera, followed by all of the steps that I take to reach a final edit of the image.

At the moment, I am planning to post a new episode of The FIX every 3 to 4 weeks. Because of this, I won’t be able to show every single Photo of the Week, but if there are any specific photos that you would like to see edited, leave a comment on the photo or send me an email through the contact form on my About page.

To me, the editing and processing of photos is the second half of photography and is the part where you can let your creativity and unique style shine through. So hopefully I can show you how fun and easy it can be, and you’ll be able to see how my own style and techniques change over time as I learn and share new methods in my workflow. I use programs such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Aurora HDR, and some others, but most of what I do is in Lightroom.

There are currently two episodes of The FIX live, and stay tuned for more in the next few weeks. If you have any feedback, questions, or requests, I would love to hear from you!
