Have you ever tried macro photography? It’s something that I’ve always found really interesting, but have never really tried much of. So a few months ago I bought a specific macro lens (before this I was using extension tubes which ended up being a major pain). If you’ve never heard of extension tubes, the basically stack between the lens and camera which changes the minumum focal distance of your lens. It creates light falloff, however, which means you have to use a higher ISO or a tripod. And the lens has to have a very exact distance from the subject to get it into focus, instead of just being able to set your composition and then get things in focus like with a dedicated lens.

Anyways, you’ve gone and got me all distracted here ranting about extension tubes. What I was really going to say is that since buying the macro lens, I kept seeing these dandelion fluff flowers and thinking how cool they would look in a macro photo. But every time I saw them I either didn’t have my camera, or was in a mad rush somewhere and didn’t have time to stop to smell the flowers (or whatever the saying is).

Then when I finally got my sh!t together, I always found that the wind had picked up and blown them apart or someone had mowed the section of grass where they were. It took about 3 months until I finally found some and got to take a picture of them!
