DESCRIPTION

Now, before I say anything else, I should probably explain what this is a photo of and where it was taken. There is a hike that starts at Lake Louise called The Devil’s Thumb which has several really great viewpoints to look back down towards Lake Louise. One of the places is called The Big Beehive and it was along this rock outcropping that I took this photo.

The photo itself is of the Lake Louise shore where the glacial moraine and silt have built up. The jagged edge and sheer blue colour of Lake Louise drew my eye and make a somewhat abstract picture. If you look close, you can see a few groups of people walking along the edge of the lake far down below. So, if you ever find yourself hiking in Lake Louise, the Rockies, or anywhere else in the world, don’t forget to look at the details. It’s easy to get lost in the wide panoramas and huge scenery surrounding you, but there is a lot to be said for the small details as well.
